Saturday Morning

We went to Lowes Saturday morning for Joshua to attend their Kids Workshop. He built a really cool pirate ship. After Lowes, we headed over to the mall and let him play on the playground and get some lunch.

Spiderman made a visit this weekend too.

American Airlines Museum

For a whopping $10 we got to tour the American Airlines Museum today. It was really cool and for as much as my son likes airplanes it was the perfect place to go. He had a blast and me and Rodney really enjoyed it too.

Quote to Think About

Beth Moore, Esther Study
"I think we know the part about "much grief," but in the weeks to come I'm hoping for us to grasp that no life is free of troubles, regardless of religion, race, or nation. In fact, as Job said, every life is full of it. When we trust our lives to the hand and pen of an unseen but ever-present God, He will write our lives into His story and every last one of them will turn out to be a great read. With a grand ending. And not just in spite of those catastrophes. Often because of them. Don't just wait and see. Live and see."

All I can say is WOW, and AMEN to that. When you start seeing things from the perspective of our Almighty God things change!

Rodney and Joshua's First Week of Summer

Rodney and Joshua have had a full and fun first week of summer together. They have been doing a lot of fun outings and the awesome part is that it has cost us NOTHING! :) Here's a run down of what their week looked like.

Monday
They stayed home most of the day Monday and just cleaned, did laundry and played outside. Then I took Joshua to the pool later that night.

Tuesday
They went and saw a free movie, Kung Fu Panda, at the movie theatre. They had popcorn and coke and enjoyed a nice time watching the movie. Afterwards, they picked me up for lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon at home. I took Joshua back to the pool again Tuesday night while Rodney went to class.

Wednesday
They started the day at the Crowley Public Library for a Magic Show. Rodney said Joshua really had a great time and laughed at the magician a lot. After lunch and nap time they headed over to the Fort Worth Public Library and got to see a show by one of the Ringling Brothers Circus Clowns. Joshua REALLY enjoyed this. Rodney had taken pictures but they have some how disappeared off of the camera. But, don't worry the clowns will be coming back to the Crowley Library on June 24th and we'll make sure and get lots of pictures then. Wednesday night, we had huge storms come through the area so needless to say we stayed in and prayed that a tornado wouldn't come. It was crazy! The tornado sirens were going off and everything.

Thursday
Rodney and Joshua went to the zoo Thursday morning. Joshua had fun seeing the animals and waiting out a rain storm that came through while they were there. After the zoo they came to get me for lunch and then had nap time. Me and one of my co-workers got together and took the kids to the Crowley Library last night for a story, snack and craft time. It was really fun. They do this every Thursday night so we'll make that a part of our Thursday night routine from now on.

Friday
Rodney and Joshua went to tour the money factory where they make US Currency this morning. Rodney said Joshua loved seeing all of the big machines and had a blast going on the tour. I'm not sure what their afternoon will hold, other than lunch and nap time, but we'll see what they come up with.

I'm still amazed that with all the stuff they've done this week, that none of it has cost us any money. And, both of them have had so much fun with everything they've done. They have been talking about all their fun excursions all week long. I'm just trying not to get too jealous since I'm stuck at work while they are having so much fun.

Well, that's about it for now. We have a few "free" things on the calendar for tomorrow so we'll see which ones we end up doing and I'll post some pictures some time this weekend.

Have a great weekend!

I Have the Mind of Christ In Me!

Having the mind of Christ trumps every situation, every circumstance, every trial, that may come up in your life. Why? Because, having the mind of Christ gives us the right perspective to face our situation and walk through our trial. When you have the mind of Christ you are not quick to give up. You understand that to walk through your trial is to become stronger in the Lord and is to gain more Christ-like character. When you have the mind of Christ, you do not easily give up those kinds of life-lessons. You invite them in so that you can grow and become more and more like Christ.

Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Why and How? Because, you have the mind of Christ within you. You know without a doubt that you can face whatever comes your way because the mind of Christ is in you, telling you that you can. There is such a Godly Confidence that comes to each of us as we sacrifice ourselves over to Christ. I love knowing that even though the ground I stand on may be a little or a lot shaky that it will not consume me. I stand upon the Rock and although I may shake a little bit I will not be moved. He is upholding me and promises to never let go.

Our Saturday

We started out the morning with going to Home Depot for the Kids Workshop. Joshua loved being able to make something and is already excited about going back next month. He was so thrilled to be able to use a hammer and nails to make something he could keep.

Here's Joshua with the finished project. He told us he was going to trap bugs in each little box.

After Home Depot we headed over to the Fort Worth Public Library to check out some library books. This was Joshua's first trip to the public library and he had a great time picking out books and sitting down to look through them.

Here's Joshua with his bag of books to take home for the week.
After getting some lunch we headed over to the RAC and went swimming for a couple of hours.

And, now my little man is taking a nap! He was sooooo tired after such a busy morning.
