Joshua's Last Day of Preschool in Fort Worth

Today was Joshua's last day at his preschool here in Fort Worth. This preschool has been so good to Joshua and he's had the best teachers. When Joshua gets up in the mornings he can't wait to get to school and play with his friends. We have been so blessed to have a preschool that Joshua really loves and that has such great teachers.

Here's a picture of the sweet things he brought home today. We have his preschool graduation diploma and a sweet, sweet card that his teachers and friends made for him today.

Inside the card all the teachers wrote a note to Joshua and his friends drew pictures for him.

Here's the note from his teacher this year - Mrs. Torres
A note from Ms. Lisa A note from Mrs. Lyons

It's so true that you don't realize what you have until it's gone. When we moved to Fort Worth I remember missing our family soooo bad and it just hurt all the time. Over the course of the 2 years we've been here we've been blessed with such great friends that have become family to us. As excited as I am to be moving back to South Carolina to be with our family, it really does hurt to leave the great friends we've made here. They have made our time in Fort Worth special and they will not be forgotten!

Sunday Afternoon Fun

Joshua spent the afternoon riding around on his super, duper big wheel! He loves pretending he's in a fast race car and speed through the playground.
He has discovered a new fun way to scare mommy!! He thinks this is a cool "TRICK".
He comes around the corner so fast that he usually ends up spinning around.. when he does it he screams out "oh man, that's so awesome". Such a cutie!

After wearing himself out on his big wheel I had him work on his letters. He actually enjoyed doing it and was quite proud of himself for doing so good.

We are working on spelling and reading words now too.
Great Job Joshua!!!! :)

Race Day Videos

Warm Up #1 - Me, Amy and Tricia decided to join in on the warm up before the race.

Warm Up #2

Starting the Race (keep watching and you'll see us) Joshua cracks me up in this video. He HATES when I start the race because he wants to go with me soooooo bad! He's such a nut! But, when you watch the finish video you'll see how I made it up to him.

Sharing a SWEET finishing the race moment with my baby boy!!! SOO PRECIOUS!

10K Fort Worth Zoo Run

Today was the Fort Worth Zoo Run. We put together a team of 10 to run the 10K and had a blast together this morning. The crowd was so big we didn't get to see our whole team, but here's four of us that started together and rallied each other through the finish line. And, oh yes it was still DARK when we got there this morning. The race started at 7:00am so we had to get there and get parked early so we could be in the starting line on time. We got there around 5:45am. The parking lots fill up fast so you have to get there early so you don't miss the race.

Striking a stretching pose before the race. :)

Jumping Jacks

Playing with Joshua before the race. In the starting line with some of the rest of our team. We were only missing 3 team members.
Let's Go! RUN RUN RUN! Starting the race.
The Finish Line was in sight!! Joshua was waiting to join me on the last little stretch of the race so he could cross the finish line with me. It was a very precious moment!
Look close and you'll see me and Joshua crossing the finish line. I can't wait to see the close up pictures the race officials took! I'm going to definitely have to order one of those.
After the race - all hot, sweaty and WET! It rained on us during the last mile of the race.
It sure did feel good though.
Me and Tricia! This was our last race together! We've run all our races together since we both started running and we've trained together just about every Saturday morning. Since we're moving back to SC in May this was our last race together. It was very bittersweet! I'm going to really miss her encouragment and our running times together.
Being silly with Amy and Brian after the race!
Oh yeah! You know we rock!! :)

Pondering Past Accomplishments

Many of you that keep up with me know that I began my weight loss journey June 5, 2008. I joined Weight Watchers and started with being 204 pounds. Before joining weight watchers I lost 10lbs so I actually started out at 214lbs with my journey. I remember very vividly feeling so defeated because of my weight. I was unmotivated and such a shy, self-conscious person. I HATED how I looked but at the same time I felt like the weight had beaten me and taken away any hope I had to get thinner. WELL!!!! Needless to say, I started Weight Watchers and I started changing my eating habits and I'm a completely different person now. I've earned the nickname of POINTS NAZI at work!! I still count my points for every single meal and log everything I eat on a day to day basis.

The reason I am blogging about this tonight is because I'm 1.2 lbs away from hitting my overall weight loss goal. As of this morning I weigh 136.2. My goal has been to hit 135lbs and I'm ALMOST THERE!! I'm am beyond excited and I'll never stop being proud of myself for how far I've come.

As of today I've lost a total of 77.8lbs and that's something to be proud of.

Here's a few pictures to show you how far I've come!

BEFORE - Starting Weight - 214lbs

Running my first Half-Marathon - Feb. 27, 2010 (Weighed 140 here)

March 19, 2010 - Weighing in at 138lbsI will post a new picture in a couple of days when I hit my nice round number of 135!!! YAY!!
I'm almost there!

Ice Skating

We took Joshua over to The Parks mall tonight to try out ice skating for the first time. He was all for it and did a great job staying balanced on the skates until he hit the ice (haha). As soon as he realized how slick the ice was he got nervous, but he stuck with it and got out there. I told him just to hold on to the sides so he could keep his balance. He did great and I was really proud of him for trying it.
Not really sure he wanted to try this.... but he did and did great!

A Birthday Surprise for my Boss!

Today is my Boss's birthday and I've been trying to come up with a good birthday "surprise" for him. So, we set up a "fake appointment" so Dr. Allen would be in his office at 2:00pm and we got the Theology Faculty and Staff together in the faculty lounge to surprise him. The guy we had set up to meet with Dr. Allen tricked him into coming to the faculty lounge where we were all waiting to surprise him!!!

I took video of him opening up his birthday present. ENJOY!!!! :)

My job is so much fun!! I absolutely love working for Dr. Allen and the School of Theology faculty. They are a great group and I'm going to really miss them. We get to have a lot of fun! :)

The guy that popped out of the box is one of our School of Theology faculty members. The faculty love playing tricks on each other from time to time. It helps break up the work day and give you a good laugh! :)

All Dressed Up

After church we went down to the Botantical Gardens to take a few pictures of Joshua all dressed up. He looked so handsome and grown up in his Easter Suit.

My Guys!

I love this picture of Rodney and Joshua. They look so much alike!
Me and My Sweet Son!
He looks sooooo grown up in this picture. I told Rodney it actually looks like he's standing there waiting for his bride to walk down the aisle. We are definitely NOT ready for that to happen. :)
Now, there's JOSHUA!!!
Mr. GQ Fashion Dude!
Trying to get a couple of family shots. :) Joshua was ready to be done with the pictures by this point, but he hung in there for a few more shots.

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

The Easter Basket Search

Joshua in search of his Easter Basket!

He searched and searched and FINALLY discovered he had not looked in the downstairs bathroom. He was so excited to find his basket.

Already tearing into the candy. :)
