Rodney and Joshua's First Week of Summer

Rodney and Joshua have had a full and fun first week of summer together. They have been doing a lot of fun outings and the awesome part is that it has cost us NOTHING! :) Here's a run down of what their week looked like.

Monday
They stayed home most of the day Monday and just cleaned, did laundry and played outside. Then I took Joshua to the pool later that night.

Tuesday
They went and saw a free movie, Kung Fu Panda, at the movie theatre. They had popcorn and coke and enjoyed a nice time watching the movie. Afterwards, they picked me up for lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon at home. I took Joshua back to the pool again Tuesday night while Rodney went to class.

Wednesday
They started the day at the Crowley Public Library for a Magic Show. Rodney said Joshua really had a great time and laughed at the magician a lot. After lunch and nap time they headed over to the Fort Worth Public Library and got to see a show by one of the Ringling Brothers Circus Clowns. Joshua REALLY enjoyed this. Rodney had taken pictures but they have some how disappeared off of the camera. But, don't worry the clowns will be coming back to the Crowley Library on June 24th and we'll make sure and get lots of pictures then. Wednesday night, we had huge storms come through the area so needless to say we stayed in and prayed that a tornado wouldn't come. It was crazy! The tornado sirens were going off and everything.

Thursday
Rodney and Joshua went to the zoo Thursday morning. Joshua had fun seeing the animals and waiting out a rain storm that came through while they were there. After the zoo they came to get me for lunch and then had nap time. Me and one of my co-workers got together and took the kids to the Crowley Library last night for a story, snack and craft time. It was really fun. They do this every Thursday night so we'll make that a part of our Thursday night routine from now on.

Friday
Rodney and Joshua went to tour the money factory where they make US Currency this morning. Rodney said Joshua loved seeing all of the big machines and had a blast going on the tour. I'm not sure what their afternoon will hold, other than lunch and nap time, but we'll see what they come up with.

I'm still amazed that with all the stuff they've done this week, that none of it has cost us any money. And, both of them have had so much fun with everything they've done. They have been talking about all their fun excursions all week long. I'm just trying not to get too jealous since I'm stuck at work while they are having so much fun.

Well, that's about it for now. We have a few "free" things on the calendar for tomorrow so we'll see which ones we end up doing and I'll post some pictures some time this weekend.

Have a great weekend!
